Qualification title: CPR - Basic Life Support

Description and Purpose

This 2 hour course  covers a range of CPR, AED and First Aid skills and the training enables a responder to give emergency first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill at home or out and about.

This course will provide the learner a certificate from FAB Training.

Duration:

The CPR - Basic Life Support course, which is endorsed at Brunel University London, is 2 hours in duration. The course comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work, including practical assessment on CPR, AED and first aid.

The course is delivered on one day.

Syllabus:

A range of subjects are covered which will require the candidate to:

Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally

Be able to assess an incident

Be able to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking

Be able to manage a casualty with a minor injury

Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally

Be able to manage a casualty with external bleeding

Be able to manage anaphylaxis

Be able to use a defibrillator (AED)

Pre Requisites:

Every candidate, prior to commencement of training for the CPR - Basic Life Support course must be 12 years and over.

Certification:

All who are successful in gaining the award will be given a certificate by FAB Training.

Level 3 – Emergency First Aid at Work

Description and Purpose

 

About the Course

The Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification enables a first-aider to give emergency first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill while at work.

This one-day course covers a range of CPR and first aid skills, providing you with the skills to ensure a safe working environment.

The qualification is Ofqual accredited and valid for three years, making it suitable for all industries and enabling you to meet HSE requirements.

The Emergency First Aid at Work course is six hours and can be delivered in one day or split into smaller sessions over a four-week period from the start of the course. The course comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work, including practical assessment on CPR and first aid.

The award is valid for three years as of the date of assessment.

Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years of age at the time of taking the assessment. No prior first aid knowledge is required.

Certification:

 

Completed assessment reports will be processed by FAB Training or for RLSS UK courses, forwarded to the Awarding Body for processing.

RLSS UK will email the certificate to the candidates nominated email address.

 

The validity period of the award is three years from the date of the assessment.

 

Level 3 – First Aid at Work

Qualification title: Level 3 – First Aid at Work

Description and Purpose:

The Level 3 First Aid at Work Qualification covers a wide range of CPR and first aid skills, equipping the first-aider to apply first aid to a range of specific injuries and illnesses.

This three-day course covers a range of CPR and first aid skills, providing you with the skills to ensure a safe working environment.

The qualification is Ofqual accredited and valid for three years, making it suitable for all industries and enabling you to meet HSE requirements.

The First Aid at Work course is 18 hours and can be delivered over three consecutive days or can be split into smaller sessions and delivered over a 10 week period from the start of the course.

The course comprises practical work and theoretical classroom work, as well as a practical assessment on CPR and first aid.

Duration:

The FAW course duration is 18 hours and the course comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work, including practical assessment on CPR, AED and first aid.

The course can be delivered over 3 consecutive days or can be delivered over 10 weeks from the start of the course.

How to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries
How to administer first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
How to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries
How to administer first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis

Level 2 – Safeguarding & Protecting Children & Young People

Qualification title: Level 2 Award in Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People

Description and Purpose:

The Level 2 Award in Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People (RQF) is for those working with under 18s, this may be in paid or voluntary employment. Sadly the safeguarding of children and young people is never out of the news. Whether this is neglect or more recently issues related to FGM or radicalisation, there is a legal requirement for those working with children and young people to understand the issues of safeguarding. This qualification is assessed in accordance with the Skills for Health assessment principles.

Course content:
