Course Details
The RLSS UK, NPLQ is a highly-regarded certification that complies with industry standards for ensuring pool safety. This certification is typically necessary for positions such as lifeguards or centre managers. The training programme consists of a combination of physical exercises, classroom lectures, and practical evaluations focusing on pool rescue techniques, first aid, CPR, and lifesaving procedures. The total qualification time (TQT) required to complete this certification is 46hrs, which includes both guided training, self-study, and assessments.
Upon successfully finishing the training programme, candidates will be eligible to work as a pool lifeguard. They will be responsible for overseeing swimming pool activities, responding to aquatic emergencies, and providing necessary first aid (including CPR, AED, and utilising pool rescue equipment). This certification can lead to promising career prospects in the leisure sector. The NPLQ Generation 10 qualification is worth 8 UCAS tariff points.
