How long is my certificate valid for?CPR Basic Life Support The FAB Training CPR Basic Life Support certification is valid for 1yr from the date of assessment. To maintain your qualification, it is required that you attend this course again for renewal. If you need a specific date then please make contact to find a suitable date for your training, before booking. Automated External Defibrillation (AED) & Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Course The FAB Training certification is valid for 1yr from the date of assessment.

Is it possible to renew my expired First Aid at Work qualification?HSE recommends that you attend the 3 day FAW course if more than a month has elapsed since expiry.

What accreditations or certifications do FAB Training hold, and how do they ensure the quality and relevance of the training content?All of our trainers hold a minimum of a level 3 award in Education and Training, or higher and a valid level 3 First Aid at Work certificate or higher. All trainers are subject to annual internal quality assurance (IQA) and must hold valid public liability insurance and or membership of the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) or another similar organisation.

What is the importance of annual refresher training for first aiders?The HSE strongly advises employers to provide annual refresher training for their first aiders. These short courses, lasting less than half a day, help maintain their competency until they re-qualify. Introducing annual refresher training can minimise risks and ensure your first aiders remain competent.

When is the renewal deadline for the ATPRA?Candidates seeking ATPRA renewal must complete the course and assessment required for new candidates within the validity period of their current certificate.

How can I ensure I remember how to respond in an emergency?In any emergency remember DR ABC D – Danger – check for danger, gases, structural failure, busy road, terrorist attack, PPE R – Response – are they alert, respond to voice, pain, unresponsive A – Airway – head tilt and chin lift B – Breathing – check for normal breathing, up to 10 seconds – call 999/112 C – Circulation (look for bleeds) / CPR

What distinguishes manual handling of people from general moving and handling tasks?Manual handling training focuses on teaching safe techniques for lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving objects by hand or bodily force to reduce the risk of injury. On the other hand, moving and handling training covers a wider scope, including not only manual handling but also the safe movement and handling of people.

What are the terms and conditions for course payment?Payment Terms and Conditions: All invoices are due for payment 28 days before the scheduled training session. A minimum of 21 days notice is required for any cancellations in order to receive an alternative date or a refund. Cancellations made with less than 14 days notice are not eligible for a refund. Brunel University Students - Payment Terms and Conditions: We respectfully ask that cancellations or changes of date be made with at least 48 hours notice prior to the scheduled start date of your allocated course. It is important to note that failure to provide sufficient notice will result in being charged the full cost of the course, and regrettably, refunds will not be available.

What is the location of the training course?One of our skilled trainers will conduct training sessions at your chosen location. Operating without our own facility allows us to provide cost-effective solutions to our clients. Please ensure that your chosen venue can accommodate the size of the group you are booking for.

Are new nursery recruits required to undergo mandatory first aid training?The Childcare Minister in 2015, Sam Gyimah, proposed new rules for early years staff. Those with level 2 or level 3 childcare qualifications will need a paediatric first aid certificate before they can work with children. Nurseries meeting gold-standard paediatric first aid will get a special award called 'Millie’s Mark'. Early years providers can also buy automated external defibrillators (AEDs) at a discount. What are my first aid responsibilities as an employer?Employers are legally required to arrange for the immediate care of any staff who have an accident or become ill while they are at work. You must assess your first aid needs based on the hazards and risks involved in your workplace and provide appropriate equipment and enough trained first aiders to help injured or ill staff.

What are the first aid requirements for 'Early Years' staff?'The EYFS requires that at least one person who has a current paediatric first aid (PFA) certificate should be on the premises and available at all times when children are present and should accompany children on outings. The certificate must be for a full course consistent with the criteria set out in annex A in the EYFS. All staff who obtained a level 2 or level 3 qualification on or after 30 June 2016 must also have either a full PFA or an emergency PFA certificate within 3 months of starting work in order to be included in the required staff to child ratios at level 2 or level 3 in an early years setting. Childminders, and any assistant who might be in sole charge of the children for any period, should hold a current paediatric first aid certificate. Paediatric first aid training must be renewed every 3 years and should be relevant for workers caring for young children and where relevant, babies. Employers should take into account, via their first aid needs assessment, the number of children, staff and layout of premises to ensure that a paediatric first aider is able to respond to emergencies quickly.' What are the legal requirements regarding first aid in workplaces?Low Hazard Environments (Examples: shops, offices, libraries) Less than 25 employees: Need 1 appointed person. Between 25 and 50 employees: Require 1 first aider trained in Emergency First Aid at Work. More than 50 employees: Need 1 first aider trained in First Aid at Work for every 100 employees (or part thereof). Higher Hazard Environments (Examples: light engineering, food processing, construction) Less than 5 employees: Need 1 appointed person. Between 5 and 50 employees: Require 1 first aider trained in Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work, depending on the type of injuries that may occur. More than 50 employees: Need 1 first aider trained in First Aid at Work for every 50 employees (or part thereof).
